SFS = Squash File System
Puppy Linux can utilise SFS package files. Puppy sets up several "layers" of file systems at first boot and has the ability to add more SFS layers. SFS package files are used because it offers much greater versatility than using PET packages. SFS files are only compatible with frugal installations, not full installations
These files consist of a file system and so need to be mounted, like any other Linux file system, for access.
Try this sfs install program or thisPET MAKER PLUS, one of which may work, otherwise the files must be copied manually to the corresponding directories on the hard drive.

Once your file is in location, open "Bootmanager": Menu (or Start) > System > Bootmanager
Click the "Choose which SFS to load at bootup" button and you see the next window.
You choose your SFS from the left pane, add it to the right pane with the arrow, click "ok" and you are done. Now reboot and your SFS is ready.
The sfs_linker program by jrb, still in development, allows for mounting of SFS files on the fly without rebooting.
