Tor
network privacyThe Tor network relies on volunteers to donate bandwidth. The more people who run relays, the faster the Tor network will be. If you have at least 20 kilobytes/s each way, please help out Tor by configuring your Tor to be a relay too.
Binary code distribution:
- tor-0.2.2.37-w-20120619.pet
./configure CFLAGS="-mtune=generic -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}" --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var --host=i486-pc-linux-gnu
Tutorial
Tor is dependent on Polipo and libevent being installed. It is recommended that the latest, stable version of openssl is installed.Tor is dependent on the host computer having its clock synchronized with that of the network clock: Psync
The Web browser is only able to make use of Tor when:
- both Tor and Polipo are also running as well; running the above Tor package will auto-start Polipo (assuming it has already been installed) Menu > Network > Tor
Confirmation of successful Tor connection:
