Typing this up on a windows machine at the moment**) Many of the PuppyLinux Network Wizards are still built upon the older net-tools utilities via BusyBox. This provides [[code stability]] with older versions of PuppyLinux. BusyBox is a core component of puppylinux and includes built into it some of the functionality of both the net-tools package and the newer [[iproute2]]. The advantage of utilizing busybox is that it helps to minimize the size of puppylinux. One of the goals of puppylinux is to provide a lightweight implementation of Linux suitable for older computers. === Binary Downloads === Ubuntu Download: [[http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/net-tools|Precise]], [[http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/net-tools|Trusty]], [[http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/net-tools|xenial]] via [[https://pkgs.org/download/net-tools|packages.org]] === Source Code === via [[http://slackware.cs.utah.edu/pub/slackware/slackware-current/source/n/net-tools/|slackware.cs.utah.edu]] via [[https://sourceforge.net/projects/net-tools/?source=navbar|sourcefordge]] via [[http://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-14.1/source/n/net-tools/|ftp.slackware.com]] === Also on this wiki === [[HowToWifiFromCommand|How to configure wifi from the commandline - Intro]] === External Links === https://wiki.linuxfoundation.org/networking/net-tools [[https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/networking/network.interfaces#old_and_deprecated_utilities_for_networking_and_traffic_control|network.interfaces#old_and_deprecated_utilities_for_networking_and_traffic_control (openWRT wiki)]] ==Categories== CategoryNetworking
